Addressing Systemic Risk, Securing Our Future
The BioPREVAIL program grew in response to a persistent need to support facilities in resource-constrained environments where failure carries national and global consequences.
Across the globe, laboratories are indispensable to preventing, detecting, and responding to especially dangerous pathogens. Yet too often, facilities built with good intentions fail to operate sustainably. Infrastructure depends on unreliable power. Equipment cannot be maintained. Designs are misaligned with local capacities. The result is a paradox: the very infrastructure meant to protect health security can become a source of systemic risk.
